Rose Water Tonic
Rose water has a lot of benefits: it’s great for both ingestible and topical usage. So, not only do I add a splash of rose water to everything I drink, especially all of my cocktails, I like to spritz it on topically whenever I wake up to freshen up my skin, before applying any moisturizer. It instantly hydrates your 67 skin and gives you that instant refreshed look and feel, on top of leaving this sweet and clean scent. Fun fact—apparently it was one of Cleopatra’s (yes, Cleopatra from Egyptian ancient times) favorite skincare rituals!
Another fun fact, rose water contains quercetin and kaempferol, which may improve sore throat symptoms and skin irritation by protecting fibroblast cells from oxidative damage.
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup dried organic food-grade rose petals, or ½ cup fresh
- 1 ½ cups filtered water
- 10 grams (about 1 tablespoon or scoop) of Original Crush
- One 12-ounce can seltzer water per serving
Directions:
- Place the rose petals in a small, lidded saucepan and add the filtered water.
- Cover and bring to a boil.
- Lower the heat to the lowest setting that still allows the water to simmer.
- Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from the heat, leave the lid on, and let cool completely.
- Place a cheesecloth over a medium bowl. Strain the mixture through the cheesecloth.
- To prepare each drink, mix the Original Crush with 1 tablespoon of rose water in a glass until it’s dissolved. Top off with the seltzer.
- Store the remaining rose water in the refrigerator for up to one week.
